Charles Bradley returns for his fifth season and second as head coach of the Grizzlies. Prior to becoming head coach, Bradley spent three seasons as the Grizzlies hitting coach. During that span, the Grizzlies made two appearances in the CPL Championship Game (2015, 2017), winning the Coastal Plain League Championship in 2017. Bradley previously spent three years as an assistant coach for Lenoir-Rhyne University and received his M.A. in Liberal Studies in 2015. In 2016, he founded Bradley Sports, a recruiting center for student-athletes.

Before coming to the Coastal Plain League, Bradley spent two years in the Mountain Collegiate Baseball League. He was the inaugural head coach for the Loveland Blue Jays in 2012 and in 2013 served as head coach for the Fort Collins Foxes. His Foxes compiled the second best record in the league, finishing runner-up in the MCBL Championship Game. In total, seventeen of his former players have been selected in the Major League Baseball Draft.

From 2007-2011 as a player, Bradley was a shortstop for Harding University. In 2011, the Bisons’ won the Gulf South Conference West Division, setting the school record for wins in a season (42) and earning the first NCAA Regional appearance in school history. He left Harding as the program’s all-time leader in sacrifice hits, while finishing second in career double-plays turned and fourth in assists. Bradley currently resides in Charlotte, NC.

ASSISTANT COACH ANDERSON BURGESS

Anderson Burgess begins his first season with the Grizzlies and will serve as the team’s pitching coach. Prior to the CPL, Burgess spent the 2016 and 2017 summers in the New York Collegiate Baseball League as pitching coach for the Syracuse Salt Cats. During his time, the Salt Cats amassed an overall record of 49-39. In 2017, the team finished with the best record in the East Division. Burgess has also served as the head coach of the St. Albans Legion team. He has worked numerous camps, including the Head First Honor Camps under Brendan Sullivan.

In the fall of 2018, Burgess continued his work for STA while assisting with the baseball program. He dedicates his time to one on one work with his players as well as studying the game. His ageless passion combined with his youthfulness has made him a bright young coach in the D.C. area.

From 2013-2015, Burgess spent three years as a starting pitcher for Coppin State University, earning his undergraduate degree in Computer Science. He transferred to Frostburg State University for his final season before beginning his coaching career. Burgess resides in Hughesville, MD.
