Grizzlies Announce Returning Players for 2015 Season

Gastonia, NC- The Gastonia Grizzlies Baseball Team is proud to announce the signing of eight returning players for the 2015 season.  Zach Daly returns for his third season from Lander, Chuck Lawing from North Greenville, Brooks Kennedy from UNC-Chapel Hill, Hayden Deal and David Sauer from Presbyterian, Sammy Taormina from Liberty and Wiley Jackson and Logan Cook from UNC-Pembroke will be back to join the Grizzlies in 2015.

Grizzlies head coach, Evan Wise, had the following comments about each of the returners.

Zach Daly, an outfielder from Lander, is coming back for his third season, with over 200 at bats with wood already under his belt.

huck Lawing, catcher and outfielder, is a strong physical player with the ability to hit for power, and play multiple positions.

Brooks Kennedy can play several positions and always finds a way to get on base and score runs.

Hayden Deal, a left-handed pitcher, will compete for a spot in our pitching rotation and had some really solid outings for us in 2014.

This is my third season coaching David Sauer, a right-handed pitcher from Presbyterian.  He comes from a healthy baseball background with his father and brother both playing in the NJCAA World Series.

Excited to have Sammy Taormina from Liberty back this season.  He will be a mainstay in our lineup this summer!

Wiley Jackson is a charismatic player and fan favorite in Gastonia who will provide depth behind the plate.

Logan Cook is a right-handed pitcher from UNC-Pembroke and we are excited to have him back in our rotation in 2015.

These eight outstanding athletes, plus many more talented baseball players will call Gastonia home in 2015.  Box seat season tickets are sold out for the upcoming season but Grizzlies tickets plans are on sale now, including the new nine game and five game plans for the biggest games of the year.  For more information, visit or call the front office at 704-866-8622.
